A changed and uplifted life: Caroline's story
Mentoring and workshops, 2016
Caroline Cochrane is a member of the Choir of High Hopes Hobart and the Thirsty Ground choirs in Hobart. In early 2016, The Story Island Project provided intensive one-on-one weekly writing workshops with Caroline Cochrane over a period of five months to assist her to produce a book about the positive impact that the choirs have had on Caroline's life.

The workshops enabled Caroline to develop confidence in crafting her personal voice and to make decisions about the shape of her story. Caroline also gained experience in facilitating a storytelling workshop with her choir friends. Through the workshops, Caroline also developed valuable skills in written expression and in book publishing, including editing and proofreading manuscripts. The result is an inspiring story about Caroline’s life journey and the value of friendship, community and hope.

A Changed and Uplifted Life is available to purchase through Colony 47’s website: www.colony47.com.au All proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Colony 47’s homelessness programs, the Australian Tinnitus Association and the Choir of High Hopes Hobart.
