Call for expressions of interest:
Story Island Project board members 2018–19

Come and be part of our story!

The Story Island Project is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced individuals to fill two vacancies on our voluntary Board: Treasurer and general member.

We are a Hobart-based not-for-profit organisation that nurtures the creativity and writing skills of young Tasmanians aged 7–17 and celebrates their diverse voices. Supported by a team of enthusiastic volunteer tutors, Story Island runs dynamic storytelling workshops where children and teenagers are empowered to create their own stories. The focus of Story Island’s work is on communities that are often overlooked, where people may experience poverty and disadvantage or are marginalised in other ways.

Our vision is for children and teenagers to harness the power of their imaginations so they can grow to be resilient and creative shapers of their own lives.

We are seeking a Treasurer with skills and experience in book keeping/accountancy/financial management to manage our record keeping and financial report writing, and one general board member with strong community networks.

For both board roles, skills and experience in community arts, philanthropy and fund sourcing will be highly regarded.

Please send written expressions of interest to by close of business on Friday 2 November 2018.

For further information, please contact Public Officer Kate Gross on 0409 856 979.
